Washing instructions of your Gi and Hakama

Washing and Care of Your White Uniform

First and foremost: do not skip the long wash cycle with prewash. It may seem inconvenient, but in some cases it is absolutely necessary.

To keep your uniform looking good for a long time, you should avoid express programs. Our recommendation is that the uniform is always washed with a prewash and—when needed—supplemented with 30–60 minutes of soaking, if possible.

The advice below is aimed at those who sweat a lot and have experienced yellowing of the uniform caused by sweat.

Wash as a colored wash with prewash at 30 °C

• Prewash with the addition of half a scoop of White Vanish

• Main wash with the addition of one full scoop of White Vanish

• Do not use fabric softener

• Do not tumble dry.

Washing and Care of Your Hakama

Hand wash only.

Place the hakama in water with added detergent until it is completely soaked. Fold it to a suitable size and wash it gently by repeatedly dipping the hakama in the water.

Don't:

• rub or scrub the hakama. Rinse in cold water 2–3 times once it is clean.

• wring or spin the hakama to remove water. It must drip-dry.

Hang the hakama carefully on a hanger, if possible, and allow it to air dry normally.

If You Absolutely Must Machine Wash

Place the hakama in a laundry bag and wash on a gentle/wool programme. Do not spin.
